Olive Bread

Today’s recipe – A Crusty Black Olive Bread  for all the olive lovers. which seems to have originated in the Mediterranean. It can be easily made in your home Kitchen – A flavourful  bread made with Kalamata olives and  herbs.

Ingredients

2 ½ cup All purpose flour

1 ½ tsp dry yeast

1 cup chopped black olives

3 table spoon olive oil

1 tsp Italian herbs

1 ¼ cup warm water

Method

In a large bowl mix together flour, yeast , olive oil and water. Knead until smooth . Add chopped olives and Italian herbs and knead again.

Set aside in a greased bowl for one hour or until it doubles in size.

Punch down and knead well again for 5 to 10 minutes .  Place it in a loaf tin and cover it with an aluminum foil. Set aside for another 20 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 400 degree F (205 degree C).Bake the loaf for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and do a milk wash and bake again for 20 minutes.

Let it cool in the pan for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.
