Date and Walnut Cake

This loaf cake is made with wheat flour mixed with dates and topped with walnuts.  It can be served as an evening snack.  A healthy and tasty cake made without  Maida, Egg and  Sugar.


2 cups Atta

¾ cup oil

¼ cup curd

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

½ cup milk

½ cup walnuts

5  dates chopped

For soaking

2 cup dates

1cup  Milk

Additional walnuts for topping


Soak the dates in hot milk for half an hour

Blend the soaked dates along with the milk into fine paste.

Take the blended dates paste in a mixing bowl.

Add oil and curd. Blend well.

Place the sieve and add the wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda and sieve well. Blend and mix well until the mixture is combined.

Further add walnuts and chopped dates.

Mix well and transfer the batter to the baking tray.

Pat the tray twice to remove the air incorporated in the  batter

Top with more walnuts and place the cake tray into the oven.

Bake the cake at 180 degree C or 350 degree F for 45 minutes.

Enjoy the dates cake.
