Paneer ghee roast is a simple and delicious recipe which can be made very easily. Paneer ghee roast can be served as starter snack. You can also serve it as a side dish for chapatti or veg.pulao.
Ingredients for Masala
1 tablespoon ghee
1 tsp cumin seed
2 teaspoons coriander seeds
¼ tsp fennel seeds
1/4tsp black pepper
¼ tsp fenugreek seeds
6 kashmiri red chilies
3 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon tamarind paste
5 tablespoon water
Other Ingredients
200 gram paneer cut in cubes
2 tablespoon fresh curd
1 onion chopped
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp jaggery
10 curry leaves
Salt as required
3 tablespoon ghee
Method
Heat one tablespoon ghee in a pan. Once the ghee melts add all the spices and roast the whole spices till they become aromatic in a low flame. Once the spices are roasted well add garlic cloves. Mix well and switch off the flame. Once the spice mixture is cool put it in a blender. Add water and tamarind paste and grind it to a smooth paste.
In a pan heat 1 tsp ghee and roast the paneer cubes until it turns golden brown. Keep aside.
In a kadai heat 2 tbsp ghee and add chopped onions and the curry leaves. Sauté until onions shrink slightly. Then add turmeric powder and sauté well, now add the prepared masala paste and sauté for 15 minutes or until ghee separates. Now add 2 tbsp curd, salt and jaggery and mix well. Add in roasted paneer and cook for a minute. Finally garnish with few curry leaves.
