Puffed Rice Balls/Pori Unda

Puffed rice balls/Pori  Unda is a crispy and crunchy snack  made with puffed rice and jaggery.  It is also made during Karthikai Deepam  festival, Hope all will try this easy homemade  pori unda recipe.

Ingredients

3 cups puffed rice /pori

1 cup jaggery

1 pinch cardamom powder

¼ cup water

1tsp ghee

Method

Heat water in a pan. When the water boils add jaggery to it. When the jaggery dissolves completely switch of the flame and strain it to remove the impurities.

Add the cardamom powder to the jaggery syrup, and heat it again until it reaches one string consistency.

Take the puffed rice in a wide vessel and add jaggery syrup to it and mix well.

Apply ghee on palm and make small balls from this mixture. Let it cool for some time

Your puffed rice balls/pori unda is ready to serve
