Spring Onion Stir Fry

Spring onions not only taste great  but are also extremely healthy for the body. They are a versatile vegetable that is popular in Asian cuisines. It is an excellent source of vitamin C and dietary fIbre. Spring onions stir fry is a simple and delicious stir fry that can be made under  5 minutes. Here is how to make spring  onions stir fry.


1 bunch spring onion

¼ cup grated coconut

1 onion finely chopped

2 green chilies chopped

A pinch of turmeric powder

Salt to taste

½ tsp cumin seed

2tsp oil


Wash thoroughly and chop the spring onions.

In a pan heat the oil. Add the cumin seed when it splutters add the chopped onions and green chilies. Saute for  two  minutes.

Now add the chopped spring onion into the pan and mix well.  Add turmeric powder and salt and stir well.

Close the lid and cook in low flame till the spring onion becomes tender.

Add the grated coconut and mix well. Switch off the flame once all the water evaporates

Serve it hot with rice or chapathi
