Fruit and Nut Modak

As Ganesh Chaturthi is around the corner, for those looking for a quick and easy modak recipe, I present you today a simple recipe of fruit and nut modak. There is no cooking required for this recipe. The modak mixture is made with dry fruits and nuts and then shaped into modak using the mould. The cardamom and ghee  gives  a gorgeous aroma to the sweet.

Ingredients

1cup Dry Roasted Mixed Nuts

(Almonds, Cashews, Pistachios, Pecans)

1 ½ cup chopped Dry Fruits

(Dates, Figs, Raisins)

2 tsp Ghee

¼ tsp Cardamom powder

Method

Transfer the dry roasted nuts to a mixer jar and grind it to a slightly coarse mixture and set aside.

Now add the chopped dry fruits to the mixer jar. Blend it to form a paste consistency. If needed add 2 tsp of milk while grinding.

Heat a pan and add 2tsp of ghee. Add the powdered nuts and mix well.

Now add the dry fruits paste and the cardamom powder. Mix well and put off the flame.

Grease the modak mould with ghee. Fill the mixture into the mould and press it for a few second.

Open the mould and carefully remove it.

Your fruits and nuts Modak is ready to serve.
