Jack fruit is an exotic fruit grown in tropical regions of the world. Today I have one unique dosa recipe made from this seasonal fruit . The best part about this dosa is it needs no fermentation. Just soak the rice, grind it with ripe jackfruit and the instant dosa batter is ready. So in this jackfruit season try out this ripe jackfruit dosa.
2 cup raw rice
4 cup chopped ripe jackfruit
Salt to taste
Ghee/oil as required
Water as required
Wash and soak two cups raw rice for 2-3 hours. Chop the ripe jackfruit into small pieces.
In a mixer grinder add the chopped jackfruit and grind to a smooth paste by adding little water. Transfer it to a bowl and grind the rice to a fine paste. Mix both together well to a dosa batter consistency by adding enough water and salt. This dosa is supposed to be made immediately once you grind the batter.
Grease and heat the tawa on medium heat. Once it is hot enough, pour a ladle of dosa batter in the center and spread in a circular motion to make a circle.
Pour some ghee/oil to the center and around the edges. Once the lower part of the dosa turns golden brown flip over the dosa and cook the other side. Once done transfer it to a plate.
Jackfruit dosa is ready!! Serve it with honey or coconut chutney.
*You can also add jaggery to this. It completely depends on how sweet the jackfruit is and how much more sweet you want. I didn’t add jaggery .
