Post No.99
The new addition to my Signature dishes of India is a famous dish from the state of Jharkand – Chilka Roti. It is a popular roti in Jharkhand prepared using rice and chana dal. Jharkand was once a part of Bihar and the cuisine are similar. This rice and lentil crepe tastes similar to south Indian adai dosa
Ingredients
1 cup rice
½ cup chana dal
Salt to taste
Oil as required
Method
Wash and soak the rice and chana dal in water for three hours
Grind it to a smooth paste . consistency should be thicker than the normal dosa batter
Add salt and mix well. Heat a dosa pan and pour a ladle full of the batter and spread it like a dosa.
Drizzle a teaspoon of oil and cook for about 2 minutes on medium heat.
Then flip over and cook the other side for 2 minutes
Serve this chilka roti with coriander chutney or garlic chutney
