Three ways flavoured Popcorn

Popcorn is a popular snack food at sporting events and in movie theaters. Popcorn is a variety of corn kernel (maize) which expands and puffs up when heated. The health benefits of popcorn are mainly it is antioxidant, contains vitamin B, manganese and magnesium. Eating popcorn provides energy along with many benefits that include improve digestion, lowers cholesterol levels, control blood sugar and prevents aging.

Popcorn can be made in with your favourite flavours and toppings, Today i am adding the recipe of three types of popcorn.

Butter   popcorn

Ingredients

3 tblsp butter

¼ cup popcorn  kernels

Salt to taste

Method

Heat a pan. Use a wide and deep pan with lid to hold the corns once they pop up. Once the pan is heated up add butter. Add salt to it. Now add the corn kernels. Shake the pan so that the corns are equally heated up and coated in butter. Cover the pan and lower the flame.  when the kernels  heat up it will start poping. Once the popping slows down shake the pan again. Keep the lid lightly open. After 10 second switch off the flame and transfer the popcorn into a serving bowl

Caramel  Popcorn

Ingredients

2tblsp  oil

¼ cup popcorn  kernels

½ cup Sugar

2 tblsp butter

Method

Heat a pan. Once the pan is heated up add  oil. Now add the corn kernels. Shake the pan so that the corns are equally heated up and coated in butter. Cover the pan and lower the flame.  when the kernels  heat up it will start poping. Once the popping slows down shake the pan again. Keep the lid lightly open. After 10 second switch off the flame and transfer the popcorn into a serving bowl

In a pan melt the butter  then add sugar. Mix the sugar and wait for it to dissolve. Once the mixture has turned a light yellow colour remove it or else the caramel will burn. Finally pour in the popcorn to the caramel before it hardens and coat it well. Let the coated popcorn rest for few minutes to dry and then serve

Masala Popcorn

Ingredients

2tblsp oil

¼ cup popcorn  kernels

Salt to taste

¼ teaspoon chilli powder

A pinch of turmeric powder

¼  teaspoon chaat masala

1tsp melted butter

Method

Heat a pan. Once the pan is heated up add  oil. Now add the corn kernels. Shake the pan so that the corns are equally heated up and coated in butter. Cover the pan and lower the flame.  when the kernels  heat up it will start poping. Once the popping slows down shake the pan again. Keep the lid lightly open. After 10 second switch off the flame and transfer the popcorn into a serving bowl

Add salt, turmeric powder, chaat masala and red chilli powder to a bowl with melted butter  and mix well

Add  the popped out  popcorn and toss well
