Corn Pulao

Corn Pulao  is a simple and easy to make rice dish. Corn Pulao is made with sweet corn, spices and basmati rice. You can serve this with raita of your choice and roasted papad . It is a perfect kids friendly meal and apt to carry in lunch box too.


1 cup basmati rice

1 cup sweet corn kernels

1 bay leaf

2 small piece of cinnamon stick

3  cloves

2 cardamom

1 tsp cumin seed

1 tsp ginger garlic paste

1 finely chopped onion

2 green chilli sliced

2 tblsp ghee/oil

1 1/2 cups of water

!/2 cup milk

2 tblsp chopped coriander leaves



Soak the rice for 15 minutes

Heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a pan. Then add bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and cumin seeds.

Sauté till the spices turn aromatic. Further add onion, ginger garlic paste and green chillies and sauté well

Add corn and sauté for a minute . Now add basmati rice and salt. Sauté for a minutes

Add water and milk. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes till water is evaporated completely

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve corn pulao with raita , papad and any pickle
