Kuzhi Paniyaram



Idli or Dosa batter                            2 cups

Onion finely chopped                      1

Green Chillies chopped                   2

Ginger chopped                                  1 piece

Mustard                                                 1 tsp

Urad dal                                                1 tsp 

Grated coconut                                   2 tbsp

Coriander leaves few chopped 

Curry leaves chopped                        2   

Oil as needed 




Heat a pan with oil and add mustard. When it crackles add urad dal and curry leaves. Saute for a minute. Add onions and green chilles and saute until the onion turns pink.Switch off and add coriander leaves and coconut. Cool this and add to the batter. Batter must be medium consistency .If needed add little water



Heat a Paniyaram Pan and add a few drops of oil


Pour spoonful of the batter 3/4 of the paniyaram mould,


Cover it with a lid and allow to cook for 2-3 minutes on a low flame

Once the base turn golden flip it over to the other side using a spoon and cook for about a minute

Remove them and serve it with coconut chutney
